“MPS is a rapidly growing industry that is forecasted to grow to $25.5 billion in 2014,” said Joseph J. Flynn, AUXILIO President and CEO. “The MPSA, as a professional organization is important to all of us who are working hard to maintain the industry’s momentum, visibility and growth, and to continue to raise awareness of the value of MPS as a solution to reduce costs and produce efficiencies for customers. In a volatile economy, MPS is a key part of the solution to driving down costs and creating efficiencies. We are pleased to be a member of the MPSA.”
In May, AUXILIO was honored with a 2011 MPSA Leadership Award in the Independent Provider category by the MPSA at the 2011 Global MPS Conference in Orlando, FL. During the same event, Mr. Flynn gave keynote remarks to attendees.
Joe Barganier, MPSA President, said: “AUXILIO has a strong track record of leadership in the MPS marketplace, including an MPSA Leadership Award for their achievements. We welcome them to the MPSA community as a unique and valuable addition to our association. The company’s vision and success in the healthcare market can serve as a role model for others who might want to approach MPS in a focused manner.”
AUXILIO Focused Exclusively on Health Care Market
Since AUXILIO’s start in 2004, the company has been on a trajectory of growth and success. The company has achieved 100 percent customer retention as the preferred MPS company at over 700 health care entities, including acute and specialty care hospitals and hospital systems, administrative and support offices, and other medical and clinical care facilities. AUXILIO is the first and only MPS company in the U.S. that works exclusively in hospitals and health care. Its unique, vendor-neutral business model benefits its customers by delivering the “highest value, best price” with every hardware manufacturer. Today, AUXILIO manages nearly 30,000 devices of all types and models, while serving over 100,000 caregivers across the nation.
AUXILIO is the only MPS company that provides full-time, on-site Resident Teams to its hospital customers. These “on the ground” teams provide hospitals with the confidence that the print management staff have full understanding of the culture and care environment, along with the insight into the inner operations, financial costs and constraints hospitals face, as well as the challenges of federal mandates, particularly Health Information Technology (HIT) compliance. As hospitals stretch their human and financial resources toward complying with electronic health records implementation, AUXILIO technical strategists and lead managers are working on IT and EHR strategy committees and teams in every hospital they serve. They assist in the readiness of e-records management execution, once again pioneering this new frontier of patient care in health care.

announces that The Imaging Channel has joined the Managed Print Services Association as the first media company to commit to Foundation membership. The Imaging Channel is the information resource for the managed print services industry. It is part of 1105 Media’s Office Technology Group, which produces the popular Managed Print Summit and World Expo conference geared to the document printing industry. These are just a few of the publications and conferences that make up 1105 Media’s portfolio of properties.
“As an information resource for the managed print industry, we understand the importance of education, information sharing and networking. MPSA provides all of that to its members, allowing for a centralized platform for those in the industry to connect,” said Amy Weiss, Editorial Director at The Imaging Channel. “Education and information sharing are the most important keys to success in any industry. Often, businesses view themselves as rivals rather than partners; associations like MPSA break down those walls and provide a forum for communication that is critical to the industry's success and survival.”
“Having a new Foundation member representing the media is a milestone for the MPSA. Having that new member be of the caliber and reputation of The Imaging Channel and 1105 Media is a powerful endorsement of the value and importance of this association to the industry,” said MPSA President, Joe Barganier. “We look forward to working with The Imaging Channel to build a stronger MPS marketplace.”
An Information Resource in Tune with MPS Industry
“Being a part of the MPS community is a huge benefit for The Imaging Channel, both immediate and long term,” Weiss continued. The Imaging Channel strives to be the voice of the MPS industry, and to do that, we need to both be accessible and have access to industry members. We’ll gain that contact through our association membership. MPSA membership allows us to interact with those on the front lines and ensure that we're meeting their needs. Having the ability to reach out to players in the industry and learn what issues are important is key.”

Modern Office Methods is the first Ricoh dealer to join the Managed Print Services Association (MPSA) as part of the special ChaMPS program available to Ricoh Family Group dealers.
Modern Office Methods President and CEO, Kevin P. McCarthy, said he was drawn to join the MPSA by the enthusiasm of the MPSA executive leadership and the opportunity to network with other companies that are also focused on their managed print business. “We look forward to studying benchmarks with other members, and to getting to know and understand other companies within the industry like ourselves,” McCarthy said.
Modern Office Methods (MOM) has been in the office equipment business since 1957. Today, the company’s annual revenue tops $30 million, and they were named "2009 Dealer of the Year" by imageSource magazine. MOM serves thousands of customers and employs more than 220 people. Their product line includes a full line of copying systems, facsimile systems, multifunction devices (MFPs), color solutions, network laser printers and color printers. MOM clients output more than one billion pages a year, and MOM’s FleetCare™ service helps put companies in control of their printing costs.
MPSA Membership Adds Value to Company’s MPS Program
“We are excited to see prominent dealerships like Modern Office Methods take advantage of this great opportunity to join the MPSA. Not only will they gain value from benchmarking and networking, our membership can also learn from the success that Modern Office Methods has had in MPS. We hope many other Ricoh dealers will take advantage of this special ChaMPS membership offer,” said MPSA President, Joe Barganier.
Ricoh’s ChaMPS Managed Document Services Program helps dealers transform their business to a services-based model to meet customers’ document management needs. ChaMPS also enables Ricoh Family Group (RFG) dealers to join the MPSA for only $500, a 50 percent reduction off the regular cost. MPSA membership gives a dealer MPS credibility and access to the MPSA’s strong industry alliances, technical partners and best practices.
MOM Customers Benefit As Well
McCarthy added, “Our clients benefit from our MPSA membership because the benchmarking and idea sharing will help make us a better service provider to them. Managed print is an important piece of our future, and the MPSA helps draw focus to this initiative and provides a way to share new ideas to make all participants better.”
McCarthy also hopes to contribute value to the association as well. “We’ve done a tremendous job growing our MPS business over the last two years, and have expertise and creative ideas we can share with our fellow members. There are opportunities out there many of us aren’t taking advantage of, and through the efforts of MPSA, we can all learn how to be more effective in offering these solutions.”

ALL Associates Group is the newest corporate member of the Managed Print Services Association (MPSA). ALL Associates Group is well known in the output market for predictive modeling and data analytics to provide the foundation for clients to build sustainable enterprise document strategies.
“ALL Associates has been one of the key contributors to the evolution of managed print services over the past two decades and a major influence in providing the research and methodology for a more data-driven, objective consultative sales approach within the output industry. Their client list is the who’s who of output,” said MPSA President, Joe Barganier.
The following comments are excerpts from an interview with ALL Associates CEO, Eddie Riddell:
Joining the Voice of MPS
“We are excited about joining MPSA because we believe they have the opportunity and challenge of providing a voice to define the value of what the MPS market is becoming.” Riddell said. “ALL Associates can help MPSA membership frame the opportunity and remove barriers in getting access to more senior executives by providing customer-specific data. In doing that, we help dealers move from free assessments to fee assessments. If positioned correctly, you become a value-add consultant partner rather than a commodity vendor.”
He added, “MPSA fits beautifully with our strategy. Providing value, education and experience will be part of our contribution to MPSA. We have value to give, such as research papers, tools and data, and we’ll get value back from being part of the association.”
Assessment Resources for Dealers
ALL Associates is the developer of EDAM®Enterprise Document Assessment Methodology, which focuses holistically on an enterprise’s document system as a measurement of hidden inefficiency, revenue drain and profit potential. EDAM includes proprietary tools, databases, statistical modeling, interpretation techniques and exhaustive industry research. The methodology helps give sales reps a view of overall total document production, related costs and likely machine population. This knowledge provides a road map to navigate future assessments.
“ALL Associates can bring value to anyone involved in MPS. Our data fits nicely because it comes at the front end of any justification. We have worked for many years with major equipment vendors who sell into corporations to justify recommendations for MPS engagement, fleet replacement or other initiatives. Now we are expanding our scope to offer more services geared to the brand-neutral dealer community, and MPSA membership also fits some additional directions we want to explore for our business,” said Riddell.
On the Value of MPSA
The MPSA provides a great community for people to learn, according to Riddell. “Vendors in the MPS space have forged ahead and defined their own service offerings and what MPS is all about. Experience in the Channel goes from one extreme of having done it, to knowing absolutely nothing. The value of MPSA is as an educational and networking forum to build noncompetitive connections and help members through operational challenges and questions.”
Riddell concluded, “By joining MPSA, we are looking for broader acknowledgement of what we have done and what we have to offer. We have worked in ‘stealth mode,’ successfully providing large manufacturers and vendors with data to support their strategies. We see this as an opportunity to work more closely with small businesses. All dealers face the same challenge in focusing clients’ attention on the issues around documents. MPS is the latest iteration of providing value to that client and going where the costs are. We are moving to more involvement in the dealer community because that is where the growth opportunity is.”

Customer-centric Judging Criteria
MPSA board members interviewed all 2010 Leadership Award submissions and judged them using an in-depth, balanced scorecard methodology. Solutions were rated based on core criteria such as strength of vision, support and level of adoption. Judges also considered MPS best practices, operational fit, flexibility and growth, as well as business benefits and ROI.
