Describe your company.
Insight Systems Ltd is a UK based MPS provider with a Head Office in Kent on the outskirts of London, and nationwide coverage.
Established in 2003, Insight Systems is family owned by David and Ellen McCulloch, a husband and wife team who have both been part of the industry for over forty years each.
Insight Systems has maintained its independence for the last 23 years and will continue to do so for the next 23 years. This is partly due to its strong moral focus, unsurprising from a family owned company whose commitment is to pass the business on through the family generations.
This is reflected in the average staff retention rate which is in excess of ten years, particularly unusual in an industry which in the UK is constantly warding off mergers and acquisitions.
Describe your solution.
In recent years we have been considering the impact of the hardware and software solutions we provide, and carefully selected the products we promote based on their core environmental credentials.
Engaging with existing and prospective customers we have been able to demonstrate reductions in CO2 emissions by up to 86% by switching technology and with print management rules implementation. In some instances this equates to the equivalent of thousands of trees.
Supporting this philosophy we have also partnered with PrintReleaf a Reforestation Organisation which has reforested almost 10,000 trees to compensate for 81 million pages printed by our own customers (in total almost 10 million trees worldwide).
We have also looked within, and into the packaging generated by the products we sell, subsequently investing in a cardboard compactor and recycling program. This program has save 9,300kg of CO2 (32,359 trees, and enough energy to power 4,928 houses for a whole year).
What pain point does your solution solve?
We already have a solid understanding of our customer’s traditional MPS pain points, but taking the time to understand their environmental objectives in addition to this means we have also been able to assist them in areas they never even considered.
Most UK businesses are on a carbon reduction journey, and our software and hardware can hugely support that process. Even those that are not would still prefer to reduce their carbon footprint when it also comes with the benefit of cost reductions and productivity gains.
Where do you keep your award?
The award takes pride of place, front and centre in our Conference Room, and enjoys regular visits to our showroom when customers visit us!
